Prepare to cancel all plans this weekend as FIFA season is back in full swing: EA Sports dropped FIFA 20 earlier today on all platforms. Last week, we were invited to check out the world-premiere of the game at the red-carpet launch event hosted by EA Sports in London. This was by far the craziest game-launch we’ve ever seen – ending with a full send performance by Major Lazer.
The theme of the evening was heavily based around the new Volta Football feature within FIFA 20, which takes football to the streets in an action-packed manner. Teams from all over the world took to the purpose-built Volta Football pitch (basically a huge cage) to play for the FIFA Volta Football trophy. Team Helsinki pulled up to the event with a roster of artists & influencers: Sara Chafak, Isac Elliot, Mikael Gabriel, Ilaripro and our very own Karim Awad. The Finnish team fought hard and tied against Amsterdam (whom made it to the final). Our team took a win against Rome though!
In the end, Rio De Janeiro took the Volta trophy home. Furthermore, the evening was blessed with the presence of football icons such as Ian Wright, Kaka led, Jadon Sancho, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Rhian Brewster, Tammy Abraham, James Maddison and Jack Grealish.
Thanks for having us EA Sports!
