Saucony: A Throwback To 1992

paid partnership with Saucony

Saucony is an American shoe company that we have been watching for a minute now: they have been making a lot of noise in the sneaker space lately. This year is huge for Saucony as they recently previewed their collaboration with White Mountain Mountaineering at Paris Fashion Week and now they are dropping some serious heat from their vintage archives.

We got the chance to introduce the revival of the Jazz 4000 silhouette straight from 1992 and it looks timeless. Saucony is bringing the Jazz back with the White/Pink colorway, which will be available only at select retailers from the 10th of April. We also managed to get our hands on the two other colorways (Red and Teal) photographed below - all dropping on the same day. Out of respect to the current situation we downsized our usual photoshoot for the safety of our team and others.

Saucony was founded in 1898 in Pennsylvania, on the banks of the Saucony Creek, which is also where the name for the company comes from. Loyal to the sport of running, Saucony offers the very best in athlete approved footwear. In addition to staying true to their roots, Saucony is also very conscious about giving back to the community: The Saucony Run for Good Foundation is committed to improving the lives of children to prevent childhood obesity.

Back to the shoe itself: the Saucony Jazz 4000 in the White/Pink colorway is retro to the core. The runner has that OG Saucony design that reminds us of us late 80’s early 90’s sportswear. The materials seem well put together and the vintage feel of the Saucony print of the shoe tongue is a nice touch.

Despite the chunky appearance the Jazz feels surprisingly light on foot and the Ionic Cushioning System™ calls for a long run. The distinct purple Saucony stripe on the side of the shoe represents the constant flow and the big rocks lining the bottom of the Saucony Creek. The purple and pink work together extremely well on the sporty silhouette and the colorway has really grown on us.

Fun fact: Saucony’s shoe boxes used to have a phrase printed on them: ”sock a knee”, which represents the correct way to pronounce the company’s name.

All three colorways of the Jazz 4000 are out now at select Saucony retailers!
